Looking North

Our Blue Ridge Mountain Wall Art: Looking North. An exciting original oil painting with Blue Ridge Mountains artwork featuring the northern peaks looking from across Old fort Valley just East of Highway 9 near Black Mountain.  Below the Catawba valley lies far beneath as well as the cut of Interstate 40 through Ridgecrest. American landscape painter Rebecca King Hawkinson (1980-) created this painting and was born and raised in Black Mountain, NC. The artist still works and resides in the Swannanoa Valley. This valley was home to the innovative artists of Black Mountain College, where artists like Ruth Asawa, Jacob Lawrence, and Josef Albers worked and taught from 1933-1957.

More About Blue Ridge Mountain Oil Paintings by Artist Rebecca King Hawkinson

Here is one of a great series of Blue Ridge Mountain Oil Paintings by Artist Rebecca King Hawkinson. The artist was born in 1980 and creates art daily in North Carolina, France, Scotland, Italy, and Wales.

This Gorgeous painting Looking North is an oil painting of the Blue Ridge Mountains featuring the northern peaks looking from across Old fort Valley just East of Highway 9 in the South Eastern part of Buncombe County.

Rebecca King Hawkinson creates works of art outside. When you are outside you use all your senses and what you see can go into the art. The artist watches the weather and light change and effect the shadows and forms on the ground. There isn’t much time to capture the shifts of light and shadow before the day wears on and the effect changes.
