Description
The Story:
I had the pleasure of painting these Hunter Sailboats in upstate New York on Lake Canadaigua, right next to a shop on the lake’s edge called Smith Boys. The weather had that roll of clouds so perfect for doing anything outside. I love painting action, and this painting is all about the possibility of action and movement. Though the boats are at rest, the dynamic tension between the boats, the water and sky create that ever lingering possibility that something great is about to happen over the water.
