Art In Bloom Exhibition Black Mountain

So, you ask, why paint blooms?  Aren’t flowers, you know, a bit old fashioned?

But flowers are a conundrum, a dichotomy.

They reflect and absorb light, sending just the color to your eye they were meant to.

They have been around for centuries, but new blooms are just now opening.

They are at once both easy to crush and throw in the fire, and yet they are resilient, springing back into place after being displaced, trampled, rained on.

Flowers return with a fierce will to live every season in the right conditions. Come to the garden and see!

I will be painting live on July 8th and 9th from 10am-2pm in a Black Mountain Garden near you, during the 16th Annual Art In Bloom & Garden Tour.
